Summer of 2020, SJSIP participated in a pilot program - CAMP Aspire from UBTech Education which lead to receiving 9 robotics kits from UBTech Education. Mindbytes and Camden Dream Center piloted all VIRTUAL robotics programs for 20 middle school students in and around the city of Camden.
In this camp, the students learnt the fundamentals of how sensors work, moved on to learning how computers, just like people, use sensors to make sense of the world.
They extended in exploring different applications of robotics and then design a robot to solve a problem.
Students were introduced to design thinking and they went on to invent their own robot by using the engineering design process as a guide to build a robotic prototype they’ve ideated, designed, built, programmed and tested.
